Node.js API Tutorial: Build a Read-Only Course Endpoint

Web Development Learning Series — Part 7 of 10 · Advanced A backend gives a web application a place to apply trusted rules and deliver data. In this lesson, create a small read-only course API using Node.js and its built-in HTTP module. Keeping the first endpoint simple makes routing and response behavior easier to understand. Use a currently supported Node.js release. Save the code as server.mjs so its module syntax is explicit. This demonstration has no authentication, database, or write route; it is a local learning server.

VR vs AR: Differences, Uses and Multimedia Design

Image
VR replaces the user’s view with a virtual environment; AR adds digital elements to a view of the real environment. A virtual lab can let a learner inspect a model, while an AR lesson can place labels over a physical object. Choose between them according to the task, available devices and accessibility needs.   In the world of entertainment , virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are changing the game. They're making our multimedia experiences more immersive and engaging. But what are these technologies, and how will they change how we enjoy multimedia? VR takes you into a fully made-up 3D world, letting you explore new places and experiences. AR adds digital stuff to the real world, mixing the virtual with the real. These technologies are set to change entertainment , from games and movies to live shows. As VR/AR get better, we can make multimedia experiences that are more interactive and fun. Video in Multimedia: Formats, Compression and Captions

Video in multimedia combines a sequence of images with optional sound to show movement, demonstrations and stories. For a web lesson, the practical choices are the file format, compression, dimensions and accessible playback. Start with what the learner must see, then choose the smallest file that preserves those details. Analog and digital video Analog video represents pictures through a continuously varying signal. Digital video stores encoded image and audio data that software can edit, transmit and play. A phone recording is a useful starting point for a short lesson: record a clear demonstration, remove unnecessary footage and export a copy for web delivery. Container vs codec A container packages video, audio and metadata into a file. A codec encodes and decodes a media stream. MP4 and WebM are examples of containers; the file extension alone does not tell you which codec is inside. Check the actual container and codecs when a file fails to play. See MDN’s media container guide ....
